Steve Roth
Prince Street Project

June 4–July 4, 1977 112 Greene Street/Workshop

Exhibition Description

Prince Street Project was a sculptural composition suspended from the facade of 123 Prince Street, NYC. The project developed from an awareness of available spaces, such as alleys and fire escapes. Steve Roth designed a five-level composition corresponding to the five levels of the fire escape at 123 Prince. It consisted of translucent, flexible plastic forms which responded to changes in wind and light. The project was con-sponsored by 112 Workshop with 123 Prince, Inc., and Paulo Serra.
