Exhibition Description

The musicians who traveled to the United States from Italy especially to help create Masaniello, were Luciano (flute and piccolo), Gianni (vocal, tamburelli), Fulvio (vocal, guitar, and tamburelli), Pino (guitar and vocal), Gianni La Barbera (guitar), and Sebastian Passione (mandolin). They performed sixteenth-century Neapolitan Villanelle, secular, rustic songs and Foone and Tamurriate, improvised songs, often for dances. Dee Dee Halleck showed The Meadows Green, a 20 minute film of the 1974 Bread and Puppet Domestic Resurrection Circus performed in Plainfield, Vermont.
