Lucy Lippard chose artists who had never had one-woman shows and ranged in age and geographical location. The work represented a wide variety of style and intent. Helen Demott (New York City) exhibited video tapes of waves and drawings of wave structure; Lauren Ewing (Williamstown, Massachusetts) exhibited color video work; Su Friedrich (New York City) exhibited photographs of mannequins and African women; Abigail Gard (New York City) exhibited abstract wooden sculpture; Joanne Leonard (Berkeley, California) exhibited photo collage journals; Bonnie Sherk (San Francisco, California) exhibited photo documentation of portable park projects and urban landscapes; Sullen Snyder (New York City) exhibited photographs of nursing homes, men, women, and children; Amy Stromsten (Montclaire, New jersey) exhibited social landscapes; and Athena Tacha (Oberlin, Ohio) exhibited a series of friezes of color nature photography.
