White Room: Aubrey Mayer

White Columns is pleased to present a solo exhibition by the New York-based artist Aubrey Mayer (b.1985).

A former professional yachtsman, and self-taught in photography Mayer has, over the past two years, embarked upon a process of making photographic portraits of artists. For his first solo gallery exhibition Mayer will present a discrete group of recent portraits, including those of Christopher Wool and Charlene von Heyl, Jack Pierson, Jeremy Deller, Jutta Koether, Emily Sundblad, Wolfgang Tillmans and Tomma Abts. Accompanying the exhibition Mayer has produced an issue of White Columns’ occasional ‘zine The W.C. which includes additional portraits of Agathe Snow, Jonathan Horowitz, Lizzi Bougatsos, Elizabeth Peyton, Spencer Sweeney, Collier Schorr, Rita Ackermann, Margaret Lee, James Siena, Sam Samore, Nick Abrahams, and T.J.
