Doors: 6pm

Performance: 7pm

White Columns, as part of the 2026 West Side Fest, is thrilled to present an event by artist Karryl Eugene. For one night only Eugene will perform a special set from his ongoing project Disobedient Tunes.

Disobedient Tunes approaches sound as a process of curation, retracing, and collage, often through long-form mixes composed of both selected and self-produced tracks. His work frequently incorporates vocal samples drawn from Calypso and Soca, genres rooted in Trinidad and Tobago, while also engaging broader Caribbean sonic histories across the diaspora. These elements are placed in conversation with production approaches informed by alternative, left-field house, trance, club, and new age rap. Through this process, he aims to reimagine the euphoric and emotional register of Caribbean music within his own contemporary sonic language. This event has been organized on the occasion of the artist’s debut NY solo exhibition, Overproof, which is on view at White Columns until August 1st.

Karryl Eugene
(b. 1998) is an interdisciplinary artist working across mixed media and sound. The artist lives and works in New York.
